Receive Slack channel messages for each request made on Spoke

Updated 2 months ago by Andrew White

Are you looking to collaborate with your teammates on requests in a Slack channel? Use this Zap to automatically receive Slack channel messages whenever someone makes a new request on Spoke.

Trigger

Trigger app: Spoke

Trigger: New request

Connect your Spoke account and pull in samples to test. For help connecting your Spoke account, check out our article on integrating Zapier here.

This step grabs the fields you can use from Spoke. Make sure you don't skip this part!

Action

Action app: Slack

Action: Channel message

Connect your Slack account and build a template for the channel message.

The fields in Green contain information from Step 1. Select the button to use information from Step 1.

Template

This Zap uses a message template. You can customize the template to fit your needs. This step controls the format of the Slack request that's created each time a user files a Spoke request.

Message Text:

Heads up! A new request was made in Spoke from (Requester name from step 1)

Subject: (Subject of request from step 1)

See it here: (Hyperlink to request from step 1)

Once the template is completed to your liking, Send a test zap to double check your formatting. Check to make sure that all the fields in the template are showing as expected.

Once you've verified the Zap looks the way you'd like, proceed and make sure that your Zap is turned on.
