Title: Reset Gusto Password
- Click here

In just a few minutes you'll get instructions on resetting your password to the email address you entered. Make sure to check your spam or junk folders if you don't see the email in your inbox.

Title: Change my benefits
Description: Qualifying life events (QLEs) are moments in life that allow you to have a special enrollment period, outside of a company's annual open enrollment. Most QLEs qualify for a 30-day special enrollment period, with the exception of the birth of a child, which has a 60-day window. This means that you have 30 days from the date of the event to enroll. Some examples include:
- Birth or adoption of a child
- Marriage or divorce
- New employment or loss of a job
- Moving out-of-network, resulting in loss of coverage
Customers who have benefits managed by Gusto can make those changes directly on their employee account.
- Click the Benefits tab
- Click Change my benefits
- Select the reason you need to make changes from the drop down menu and the date of the event. Remember, you must submit your enrollment within 30 days of the event date. Click Save & Continue
- Click +Add Proof to upload a document proving that you are eligible for this change. Remember, this proof is a critical piece to completing your enrollment so make sure to upload a valid document proving this QLE. When you're finished, click Continue
- Add your dependents (if you have any). Click Save & Continue
- On the following page, you will choose your benefits. Click Pick a Plan for each benefit available and click Select for the specific plan you want to enroll in. Remember, if you have dependents you would like covered, make sure their name is selected as well
- Once you have finished selecting your plans, click Save & Continue
- Enter extra information on the following page and click Save & Continue
- Confirm your enrollments click Sign Form beside each enrollment. Draw your name in the signature field and click the box beside where it says "I agree to electronically sign this form," then click Save. Once each form has been signed, click Confirm Enrollment
Once the changes have been processed, you will see them reflected in your Gusto account

Title: PPO V.S HMO
Description: PPO & HMO are different types of health insurance plans, here are some differences:
- The size of the network: Some plans have a larger number of providers available
- Accessing various providers: For some plans, you need a referral from your primary care physician to see a specialist, whereas in other plans you can book straight with a specialist
- Out-of-network services: Some plans cover out-of-network services whereas others do not
- Price: Plans differ in premium and out-of-pocket costs.
PPO — Preferred Provider Organization
Of all the available plans, a PPO is generally the most robust. It tends to have the largest network and most flexibility in terms of accessing providers. It also generally comes with a higher price tag. More specifically:
- Larger network: The network of available providers is generally larger than the other types of plans
- No referrals needed: Members usually do not need a referral from a primary care physician (PCP) to see a specialist
- Out-of-network-care is typically covered, but with (separate) higher deductibles and coinsurance
- Higher costs: Out-of-pocket costs and/or premiums are often higher than the other types of coverage, because a PPO provides the most flexibility in terms of allowing members relatively unfettered access to a wide array of providers
HMO — Health Maintenance Organization
HMOs tend to have the most restrictions of the various types of plans, but they also tend to have lower overall costs for premiums and out-of-pocket expenses.
- Smaller network: The network of available providers is typically smaller than a PPO
- Referrals are needed: Members usually must get a referral from their PCP in order to see a specialist
- Out-of-network care is not covered, unless it’s an emergency situation
- Lower costs: Out-of-pocket costs and/or premiums are often lower for HMOs, as these plans tend to be the most restrictive in terms of members’ access to providers

Title: Tax Withholdings
Description: Change your federal or state tax withholdings at any time in your Gusto account. You can use the online IRS calculator or refer to the W-4 worksheet to help you calculate your federal tax withholding allowance.
- Click the Job & Pay tab.
- Next to Federal Taxes or State Taxes, click Edit.
- You may update your Withholding Allowances or your Filing Status.
- You may also add an additional amount of wages to be withheld as Additional Withholdings.
- Click Save.
- The withholding allowance number you enter will be used to calculate your federal or state withholding tax in future payrolls.
Note: Higher withholding allowance numbers will cause less income tax withheld each payroll. If you claim ‘exempt from withholding’ as your filing status, Gusto will not withhold federal income tax from your wages but they will still be reported on the W-2

Title: Add account to direct deposit
- Click the Job & Pay tab
- Under the first listed bank account, click Add Method
- Enter the new account's routing number, account number, account type, and display name
- Click Save
- Under Payment Method: Direct Deposit, click Split Paycheck
- Split funds into the different accounts by percentage or flat dollar amounts
- Click Save
Note: Payments will now be split between these bank accounts in future payrolls. This includes all wages and reimbursements
